Valve chooses Movistar Liga Pro Gaming to produce two tournaments with USD 45,000 in prizes

After twelve consecutive seasons, the Liga Pro Gaming has established itself as one of the most attractive esports leagues in Latin America, gaining the trust of the most relevant publishers in the world of competitive video games. Among them, Valve Corporation, the creator of Dota 2, which in Peru has more than two million players with registered accounts. The health crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic postponed the professional circuit of Dota 2 for the first months of 2021. In its objective of keeping the scene active and with attractive tournaments for South American fans, Valve has decided to financially support the important organizers and, with more solid projects in the region such as the Movistar Liga Pro Gaming, produced by Live Media Esports Entertainment.

By the end of the last quarter of the year, the Movistar Liga Pro Gaming of Dota 2 will produce Season 6 with 25 thousand dollars in prizes and two divisions, Upper and Lower Division. In addition, an edition called Final Series with $ 20,000 prize pool, to which the 7 best teams from the Upper Division of Season 6 and the winner of the Lower Division will classify. Players from all over the region, professionals and amateurs will have the opportunity to participate in this great Dota 2 event because four Open Qualifiers will be opened on the FirstBlood.io esports competition platform.

This is the second consecutive year that Valve Corporation relies on the services of Live Media Esports Entertainment, given that last year it was the company chosen to carry out the official broadcasting in Spanish of The International, the Dota 2 World Cup, the esports event that delivers the largest prize pool in the world. Last year it was $ 34,330,000. “Dota 2 is the second most popular sport in Peru, with audiences that can even exceed professional soccer in some cases. This contribution from Valve is a demonstration of their interest in growing Dota 2 in our region and that they have appreciated the great effort we have made over these almost three years to professionalize the local scene. Our entire staff is preparing all the production details to create the best audiovisual and content experience for the enormous legion of esports fans in our country”, says Luis Carrillo Pinto, CEO of Live Media.

The finals of both tournaments will be broadcast live on the Movistar Deportes channel and special programs will be held weekly with highlights of the games. In addition, interviews with the players of the main teams in Peru and South America who will seek to win the prized cup of the renowned MLPG and of course, 45 thousand dollars in prizes that are disputed in this last stage of the year.
